Hello! I’m a registered Associate Marriage & Family Therapist (AMFT). I received my Master of Arts degree in Marriage & Family Therapy from Alliant International University. Before becoming an AMFT, I spent several years working in Applied Behavioral Analysis with children and parents to meet a wide variety of development goals. After my time in ABA, I made a switch to a community mental health agency working with children and families from the Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) by providing support and resources to successfully live healthier and happier lives. This has provided me with extensive experience working with clients from different cultural, ethnic, religious, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
I began my intensive training in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) in 2021 with Living Success Center – San Gabriel Valley working with adolescents, adults, and families in individual and group settings. I’ve had the opportunity working with the Boys & Girls club teaching and practicing DBT skills in school settings. Additionally received training in adapted DBT skills, such as the Skills System developed by Julie Brown for individuals with cognitive challenges. This training has given me the opportunity to work with other agencies partnered with Choices as well as provide therapy in Spanish with adolescents and families that benefit from practicing DBT skills in an adapted format. In 2022, I became a National Alliance for Borderline Personality (NEABPD) Family Connections Leader.
My approach to therapy is a holistic one where we bring attention to the mind, body, and environmental connection in each individual. I hope to provide a safe environment with a non-judgmental and compassionate lens in each session. My goal is to couple your expertise of being you – your reality and lived experiences – with my skill set, in order to collaboratively work towards achieving your goals.
It would be an honor to bear witness to your healing and growth.
